Dr. Navarro has been practicing emergency medicine at SVH since 2009. She earned her medical degree from UC Davis in 2001 and completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Stanford Hospital and Clinics in 2004. Over the years, she has held several significant roles including Medical Director/CEO of SVEMG and Chair of the SVH Emergency Department for 2 years, Vice Director/Chair for 3 years and CFO of SVEMG for 6 years.
Dr. Navarro has been actively involved in various hospital committees such as the Sepsis Committee since 2015, and she served on the Community Advocacy Committee from 2017 to 2022. She is an engaged member of the Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital Foundation since 2017 and has contributed to groups like the CCAH Physician Advisory Group and CCAH Joint Operations Committee. She has also mentored students through programs like the Summer Health Institute and the CSUMB Physician Assistant program.
In addition to her administrative and educational roles, Dr. Navarro has been involved in media projects including podcasts, print articles, walk with a doc, and interviews. She has taken a lead role in physician and PA recruitment since 2015, aiming to attract top talent to SVH.
Dr. Navarro is passionate about various aspects of emergency medicine including ED efficiency, enhancing patient experience, promoting cultural sensitivity and competence in the emergency department, utilizing bedside point-of-care ultrasound, and improving physician communication with nursing, ancillary staff, and patients.
Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, reading, exercising, and spending time with her children.
