About Us

​Salinas Valley Emergency Medical Group is a small democratic group which has had a stable contract with Salinas Valley Health for over 20 years. We became an independent group from a corporate entity in 1999. Our group prides itself on its independence, and we view our colleagues as family. That our physician partners remain with our group through retirement, we believe, is a testament to the fact that we find our daily work deeply satisfying. We have an excellent relationship with our administration and our consultants. We staff a busy, high-acuity emergency department at a regional tertiary care/STEMI/stroke receiving facility with -65,000 ED visits annually and excellent subspecialty backup. SVH is a public district hospital that serves a culturally and medically diverse population. There are abundant opportunities for career-long learning and professional growth as well as leadership opportunities within the group, hospital, and broader community. For example, we have been involved in working with the SVH Foundation, broad community advocacy and interventions to address social determinants of health, EMS and PA education, and numerous hospital committees and leadership positions, including the Chief of Staff. We also support local students through mentorship and scholarship. Our group is proud to have providers not only passionate about medicine, but also about working with our amazing community.
